During this special session from 9 am until 11 am, I will walk kids and their parents through the process of setting up a new WordPress.com account and how to get started blogging and publishing content to the Internet. This class is geared towards 7-12 year olds, however, any age is welcome to attend. Parents must be present for children under 13 and all attendees must bring a laptop.
Attendees must also have access to a parent’s email address that can be read online for verification during the class. This is designed to be an interactive class, so participation and questions are welcomed and required. After getting an account, we will focus on how to publish different post formats easily to the web using the native WordPress.com media uploaders. I am lucky enough to have the very talented Bernice Lee and super knowledgeable Andy Christian to assist the students to progress in the class as we traverse through the wonderful set of publishing tools the fine folks at WordPress.com have provided.
